I received an unexpected but very welcome call from Mark Stafford a few days ago. Most will remember Mark, not for his sailing prowess in SIN at the last SOMR, but for his talents on the dance floor at the presentation evening at Hastings Yacht Club. Rumour has it the Dirty Dancing producers sought him out to coach Patrick Swazi....... or was it the producers of Shrek?
Anyway, Mark has foresaken SIN, turned his cheek and taken on [With Teeth]... a bloody funny name for a Farrier F25A that he plans to clean up Geelong week in... good onya Mark and be assured that when the rudder breaks Ian will be ready to fix it...with Georges help and advice no doubt ... it is named after a Nine Inch Nails song and it is hoped that racing wise it does have teeth...thats up to you Mark...
We welcome Dean Snow as a new member of the club with his Farrier F32RX called Volantis. It is a new boat and he has entered Geelong week to join in the fun. I notice that George Bulka reports that his F82R Redshift was built by one Dean Snow so I trust George will be suitably sub-serviant and allow Dean right of way at all times...fat chance I reckon.....
I notice that Geoff Floyd has his new Sprint 750 named Chilli on the hardstanding at Hastings Yacht Club. We look forward to some keen racing between Geoff and Ross McOmish at Geelong Week... no pressure Geoff, but we expect you to prevail over our SA friends...
Finally, you will all be pleased to hear that Tim Pepperell has at last paid his membership fees... I personally believe the crew on Quickskips have to make a donation everytime they step aboard... Tim, Shaun and David have worked tirelessly (they tire easily) with the Geelong week committee to set up the Multihull Program for the week.... job well done...
Cheers
