Where there's a will there's a way...

Took Shuttle out at Yaringa for a clean up and weighing just prior to SOMR. Plans have Shuttle at 8 meters wide and Slip way at 8.2 meters wide..... no worries mate! On the day, things didn't go according to plan.... Shuttle has 8.3 meter beam and Slip way is just under 8 meters wide!! Who says you cant fit a quart into a pint pot... we made it by tilting her a bit to slip one of the amas over the floating walk way.

Next month they plan to remove the fixed walkway on the right ............

Cheers

Warneet Motor Yacht Club Around French Island race

Now that SOMR and Geelong week have come and gone, the next "big event" locally is the Warneet Around French Island Race. It is scheduled to start at 7.30am for Multihulls on the 24th Feb. I entered for the 1st time last year and found it to be a good fun race to participate in. We experienced most weather and wind conditions during our circumnavigation of the island so never a dull moment.  The club is informal and friendly and a good Multihull fleet would add to the ambiance!!

NOR, Entry form and sailing instructions are already published on their Web site at

Look forward to seeing you all there again

Cheers

Geelong Regatta Berthing at Docklands

Anyone entered in the Geelong Regatta will need to make arrangements to berth their boat on the Thursday night. Ian anderson has contacted Adrianna St. Denis at Waterfront City Marina (Phone: (03) 8317 3838; Fax: (03) 8317 3839; adrianna.st.denis@vicurban.vic.gov.au ) and advised that berths are currently available for our fleet, but bookings should be made quickly. Click on these links for the Waterfront City Marina Berth Booking Form and the WFC Berthing Plan and Conditions. Please state at the time of booking that you are with the MYCV multihull fleet and that you would like to be near other MYCV members if possible; mentioning Ian Anderson's name may help jog their memory if they do not understand MYCV Multihulls.

SOMR race entries

Just logged onto the Skandia Geelong week web site and pleased to see that there are currently 12 Multihulls entered. We are expecting that the same 12 (and more) will be participating in SOMR first, but as yet few entries have filtered through. I am guessing that if we had an online entry facility things would be a little different.... we need Stuart to close down his business for a week to give him the time to develop the facilty..... in the meantime, we have to live with snail mail so don't delay and get your entries in prior to 12th January.

Christmas Break Racing

Apologies for the late notice, but Ken Walters of Cerberus Sailing Club has kindly offered to run a weekend and mid week twilight series during the Christmas break and before the Hastings and Yaringa series start again. Details are best found on Bill Fairley's web site at the following address: http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/wfairley/ If you are thinking of participating, give Ken a call or drop him an email.... support has not been strong thus far but hopefully more will join in as we move into the new year.
